DESCRIPTION:  \n>PURCHASE TICKETS< \nThe Visual meets the Aural – A collaboration with the Amarillo Arts Institute and Arts in the Sunset \nArtists:\nMichelle Skinner\, violin\nAaron Merritt\, cello\nRick Rowley\, piano\nVisual Artists\, painters \nRepertoire:\nClaude Debussy – Violin sonata (violin and piano)\nJessie Montgomery – Duo for violin and cello\nModest Mussorgsky – Pictures at an Exhibition\nDmitri Shostakovich – Piano trio no. 1 in c major\, op. 8 \nOur opening season concert is one of collaborative arts and community as we rally around the mighty\, Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky. Presenting the original version of this amazing work and following the symphony’s performance of Ravel’s transcription just a few weeks before\, we will be joined by Sunset in the Arts\, both in a juried presentation by local artists reflecting Viktor Hartmann’s original themes and on location in this incredible art colony. Featuring artist Rick Rowley on piano\, Aaron Merritt on cello and returning violinist Michelle Skinner\, this evening will also feature works of Debussy\, iconic American composer Jessie Montgomery\, and Shostakovich.
